Don’t let the cold weather keep you from getting some fresh air at Patapsco Valley State Park. This quiet hideaway is conveniently located between DC, Columbia, and Baltimore, and is a welcome respite from the bustle of the city.
The park sits along 32 miles of the Patapsco River, and has recreational opportunities like hiking, camping, and mountain biking. Though it’s too cold to get out on the water or picnic in one of the pavilions, Patapsco Valley State Park still has plenty of flora and fauna to be admired year-round. And with Spring just around the corner, you can pick out the best trails and places to take in the scenery once the seasons change.
Be sure to visit the Park’s Department’s website for up-to-date information on closed sections of the park. While you’re at the site, sign up for the monthly newsletter for pavilion information, trail maps, and more.
