There’s nothing quite like curling up with a good book on the couch while snowflakes fall gently beyond your window. The Howard County Library System’s Central Branch has been making this cozy wintry scene a reality for more than 40 years now. Its impressive selection of more than 200,000 books, magazines, and other forms of literature promises something that suits your interests. Bring along proof of residency to grab your library card and start exploring the massive collection. From current best-sellers to classics to nonfiction masterpieces, the Central Branch library has it all—including comfy chairs that you’re welcome to relax in as you page through a book. If you want to hop online while you’re at the library, you should have no trouble finding a free computer with more than 90 of them available to the public. The library also hosts classes on a daily basis that cater to kids and adults alike, so if you’re looking to learn more about a particular subject, check out the current schedule. Note that masks are required for all guests regardless of vaccination status.
